Professor Honored With Scholarship Endowment

Seattle Pacific University is pleased to announce the establishment of the Marilyn S. Severson Scholarship Endowment. SPU’s Director of Development for Major Gifts Dean Carrell worked with alumnus Jason Zinza ’97 to establish this endowment in gratitude to Severson, professor emerita of European studies (French).

Jason graduated from SPU in 1997 with bachelor of arts degrees in English and political science, and a minor in French. Jason valued his experience as a University Scholar, and has been a regular supporter of Seattle Pacific University. Jason wishes to honor Marilyn Severson by establishing this endowment in her name to support students, with preference to undergraduate students who are juniors or seniors pursuing a major or minor in French and who are studying in the University Scholars program.
