Nursing Programs at Seattle Pacific University

The field of health care is changing at a rapid pace. But one thing hasn't changed: the need for exceptionally well-prepared nurses who can serve as leaders, innovators, researchers and caregivers. Seattle Pacific University is recognized throughout the region for the high quality of both its nursing program and its nursing graduates. SPU alumni are daily using their skill and caring to make a profound difference in the lives of thousands of patients.

The School of Health Sciences is also proud to be home of the Washington Center for Nursing.

"The School of Health Sciences offers rigorous programs designed to prepare students for a rewarding professional role. Graduates of our program are recognized for their competence, character, and wisdom. — Lucille Kelley, R.N., M.N., Ph.D, Dean of the School of Health Sciences

After 10 years of full accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the School of Health Sciences will host an accreditation site visit April 22 through April 24, 2009.  SHS is involved in the self-study and preparation phase of the planned visit.  All three programs will be reviewed: basic nursing, RN to BS, and master's of nursing.  Alumni, students, community partners and other constituents are invited and encouraged to submit comments regarding the programs’ qualifications for accreditation.  CCNE invites signed comments and shares them with the evaluation site visitors prior to the visit; however they are not shared with SHS. Your input into the evaluation process is very important and will be received by CCNE until 30 days prior to the visit.
