What is DreamSpark?

DreamSpark is a program set up by Microsoft to provide students with software design and development tools at no charge.

How To:

Access DreamSpark
Students wishing to download programs such as Visual Studio as well as variety of other Microsoft Products made available through DreamSpark, must go http://www.dreamspark.com.

Create An Account

  1. Click Sign In
  2. Choose Create an Account
    1. Do not enter anything in the Activation Code and ISIC Card Fields
    2. When choosing your Institution, there is a regular Seattle Pacific University listing and a Seattle Pacific University - Computer Science Department.
  3. After Creating your Account, you need to verify your account by school.
  4. If you succesfully verified your account, you'll receive an email confirmation.

Common Problems:

These are large files, we strongly encourage you to use a wired connection to complete the download. If you use wireless the download may not complete properly.

Verification

An email is sent to your SPU account to verify your account. If this does not arrive in your inbox, check your junk mail folder. You must activate your account prior to downloading the software.

Pop Up Blocker

You may need to disable your pop up blocker in order to download software.

Burning an ISO Image

If you're running Vista or Windows XP, you may need additional software to burn an ISO image. Information on what an ISO image is as well as what applications are available may be found here.

Windows 7 has built in software in the operating system that will allow users to burn ISO images without an additional application.
